Public Computer
- Restart the computer
- We have software in place that will restore the computer to its earlier state. Hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and the power icon will show up in the bottom right-hand corner. Choose Restart or Shutdown. If the computer will not restart-- press and hold the power button on the computer until it turns off and then press the button again to turn it back on.
- Make a test reservation
- Check and see if the computer is exhibiting any signs prior to restart. Does the browser work? Are there popups?
- Report to IT
- If the computer is still acting strangely, create a ticket with IT and be as detailed as possible. If the computer needs to be powered off, IT will contact the branch.
Staff Computer
- TURN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY
- This is the best way to cut contact with our network to prevent spread. Press the power button until it turns off or unplug it from the power source.
- Contact IT
- Submit an IT ticket https://calslibrary1.freshdesk.com . Be as descriptive as possible of what happened and provide pictures if possible. It will help us decide the next step to take.
It is important to act quickly and keep calm in these scenarios.
