A generic template is used when a Sierra login is initially created. This template includes the general permissions given to staff members working in your department or branch. Permissions specific to department/branch positions are not included in this template and must be requested by a supervisor through the IT ticketing system. 


Examples of special permissions would include those for holds and/or serials management, rapid update functions, additional workflows, and access to web management reports. Having these permissions can depend on your official job description and/or additional duties assigned by your supervisor.
